Wuhan is the capital of Hubei Province and a major city in central China. Known as the "River City," it lies at the confluence of the Yangtze and Han Rivers, earning it the title "Nine-Province Thoroughfare" as a vital national transportation hub.
A city of historical and cultural significance, Wuhan is a cradle of Chu culture. It boasts landmarks like the Yellow Crane Tower and the East Lake Scenic Area. In modern history, the Wuchang Uprising launched the Xinhai Revolution, imbuing the city with a profound revolutionary heritage.
Today, Wuhan is a core city on the Yangtze River Economic Belt, serving as a key national base for industry, science, education, and innovation. It is home to numerous universities and research institutes. The city uniquely comprises three towns—Wuchang, Hankou, and Hanyang—interwoven with two great rivers and numerous lakes, blending majestic natural scenery with deep historical roots into a dynamic modern metropolis.

East Lake Ecological Tourism Scenic Area (Wuhan East Lake)

It is the largest urban lake in China, with a water area approximately six times that of Hangzhou's West Lake. Often called the "green heart" of Wuhan, it integrates natural landscapes, cultural heritage, and recreational spaces.

Hubei Provincial Museum

It is one of China's most prominent museums, renowned for its exceptional collection of artifacts from the ancient Chu and Zeng states. The museum's architecture is inspired by traditional Chinese styles, with its main building resembling an ancient ding (ritual tripod vessel).

Yellow Crane Tower (Huanghelou)

It is the most iconic landmark and cultural symbol of Wuhan, often regarded as the "heart of the city." Perched atop Snake Hill (Sheshan) overlooking the Yangtze River, it is celebrated as one of the "Three Famous Towers South of the Yangtze."
